Linear grade
engine oils, fortified with antioxidants and anti-rust inhibitors, are
versatile lubricants derived from high flash point oils. Engine oils play a
crucial role in reducing friction among moving engine parts, thereby mitigating
wear, enhancing performance, and lowering maintenance expenses. Moreover, clean
engine oil prevents sludge accumulation, which could obstruct vital oil
passages.
These oils are typically formulated from a blend of base oils, polyalphaolefins (PAO), or their combinations, sometimes with esters comprising up to 20% by weight to aid in additive dissolution. The composition of engine oil generally consists of 78% base oil, 10% viscosity improvement additive, 3% detergent, 5% dispersant, 1% wear protection agent, and 3% other components. Engine oils are engineered to meet stringent performance standards, ensuring optimal engine function across various operating conditions in automotive, industrial, and marine applications.
